The start of March means only one thing in the Really Wild calender: Cheltenham Festival is just around the corner.

With that comes the annual question of what to wear to balance classic country and traditional dress with the possible (or, let's face it, likely) inclement weather.

To help solve the dilemma, our founder and designer Natalie Lake shares her insight on Cheltenham style and the key pieces to be seen in, whatever the weather.

"Cheltenham Festival has a very traditional sense of style," explains Natalie. "Along with Royal Ascot, it's a premium event where everyone dresses to impress. Each year we expect to see exceptional tweed and natural details such as stylish feathers, as well as sophisticated-but-practical boots. "

"While some events in the calender may see more women wearing trousers and suit sets, beautifully-matching coats and skirts are still de rigueur at Cheltenham."

"A beautiful coat is the most important piece of any outdoors ensemble. Really Wild's Aston Coat in Moss Coral Blue tweed creates a sleek silhouette and matches perfectly with our Alice Skirt."

"Teamed with our Cashmere Roll Neck in Sienna and Seedhead Silk Scarf in Mustard, you'll be dressed for superior warmth with vintage-inspired style. Really Wild's Suede Gloves in Claret, or our Driving Gloves in Tan, finish the look effortlessly."

"Mid-March is an excellent time to turn to new seasons fabrics and colours, to stand out from a backdrop of green and brown. Really Wild's new Warwick coat in Smoke Sandstone is a beautiful addition for spring, and matches with our Piped Pocket Skirt. The elegant dogtooth stitch was inspired by white clouds on a bright blue sky - wonderful for welcoming in the new season."

"A number of our shirts go beautifully with this outfit. Try the Liberty Silk Peter Pan Collar Shirt in Purple floral, or for something more romantic opt for our exquisite Liberty Silk Shirt in Love Hearts."

"To bring a new motif to the look, I love our Liberty Silk Folk Shirt in Blue Strawberry. Luxurious crepe de chine and a heavier yarn delights with a slightly crisp texture."

"For even more luxe layers, Really Wild's Rosemoor Coat in Blossom Turquoise pairs beautifully with our Cashmere Turtle Neck Jumper in Antique White. This warming piece is simple and ultra-soft for a classic look."

"If it looks like the sun is going to put in an appearance at Cheltenham Festival, our Bloomfield Jacket in Powder Blue is the perfect choice. It has a classic structured fit with a sculpted waist to define your contours, and the pastel blue shade can't help but make you think of blue skies."

"Match it with the Alice Skirt in Powder Blue, and team with the beautiful semi-sheer Liberty Silk Utility Shirt in Vintage Floral for a romantic style."

"Dressing to keep warm is something to love about Cheltenham; there are so many ways to do it with style. Really Wild's Seedhead Silk Scarf in Dove Grey is a perfect accompaniment to our spring season coats and jackets, or can be worn as a vintage-style neckerchief."

"To feel even more protected from the elements, our Luxury Wraps in Claret and Blossom Check achieve warmth and elegance in a single stretch of cloth. Wear one wrapped around you, or knot it for a heavy scarf. Perfect for the chilly Cheltenham wind."

"It's important to consider gloves too. For those who want to follow the form and scribble notes on a race card, our rabbit fur mittens are the stylish and practical way to go. These beautiful pairs come in Cream, Grey or Chocolate and free up your fingers for writing notes and picking your winners."

"If overall warmth is more important to you, our Suede Gloves in Rose go beautifully with the Rosemoor and Warwick coats."

"This season, Really Wild has a wide selection of trilby hats that are perfect for the races, with stunning feather detailing. To go the extra mile, our new Christie's Hats will impress the country set."

"For an extra touch of glamour, fix one of our stylish Feather Pins through a jacket buttonhole."
